This year the challenge is to design a personal quilt commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Big Canoe.
These quilts will be displayed, or included in a quilt show in 2022.
Size of Quilt: No larger than 30” by 30”
Due Date: All completed quilts are due on November 2, 2021. We will have a show & tell on Zoom, or hopefully in person.
There are many pictures and stories available about Big Canoe history, and many activities residents participate in that can be a
source of inspiration.
(Please write a little about what inspired you to create your quilt.)
We will be hosting zoom meetings allowing us to brainstorm ideas, answer questions, talk about how to pick fabric, etc. We’ll also discuss techniques for making an Art Quilt. Watch your email for Zoom meeting invitations.

If you are using a photo as your inspiration, there is a free on-line tool called Pencil sketch that can convert a photo in to a drawing. https://pencilsketch.imageonline.co/index.php
Ruth Herzler is coordinating this years challenge. Please feel free to contact her if you have any questions. Gretchen has lent her books and DVDs related to art quilts that you may be interested in looking at.
