Geri Beam, a member of Jasper‘s Out on the Limb Quilt Guild, will present an activity based Color Theory workshop. Small group activities are designed to help us understand color theory and our color palette of choice. You will also be able to bring a pattern you would like to make but want to alter the color palette AND/OR bring a project you have made but are unhappy with your color choices. The workshop includes fees, hand outs, snacks, beverages and lunch. The fee is $25

Gretchen has been a longtime quilter, organization expert and PNQ member. She will present keys to organization for our sewing projects and spaces. Participants will also be able to send pictures of problem areas in their own sewing room or entire sewing room and get ideas how to solve them. Details about this personalized approach will be given to participants. The fee includes workshop presentation, snacks and beverages.

Barbara is a founding member of the Pine Needle Quilt Guild. Barbara is an American Impressionist and known for her unique style of oil painting which is structured with a strong sense of design and embellished brush strokes. She is well known for her flowers, still lifes, and peaceful scenes. Barbara has studied with many well known artists as well as exhibited and taught throughout the United States.

Sue will teach us the art of English Paper Piecing. She will have a small kit that we will be able to make and hopefully complete that day. The fee is TBD but it will be an all day workshop, 9-3, including the kit and lunch. It will be limited to 15 participants and registration and other details will be updated in early March.

Annie is a quilter, a national and international quilting instructor, a podcaster, Bernina Artisan Ambassador, an Aurifilosopher, Quilt judge, a C&T author, Cherrywood Fabrics Ambassador, featured in numerous quilt magazines, and much more. Nationally know quilter, Annie Smith, will teach us the history of Aurifil thread, how it is made, processed and uses for the variety of thread weights. We will create a resource binder of the uses of the different weights of thread as we will be making stitch samples of each weight and combination of weights using decorative and straight stitching. We will use essential notions and various needle sizes to learn more about Aurifil threads. We will receive a kit of Aurifil threads and lots of SWAG to make our resource binder. Fee will be announced in early spring.
The price of the workshop will include speaker fees, Aurifil kit & SWAG, lunch and room fees for the Pickens Recreation Community Center.

We will carpool to downtown Duluth to visit the energetic and creative HollyAnn Knight. She will have a presentation and tour of her shop which includes a variety of Ruby society fabrics. Afterwards we will have lunch and go to another quilt shop in the area.

Candace returns after her successful March program to the guild. This is a wonderful sampler quilt of contemporary design for all stages of quilters, especially beginners. The quilt uses a variety of simple blocks such as quarter and half square triangles. The variety of layouts and ways to make the blocks unique by using color placement, stripes, and/or directional prints will be shared. This will be an all day workshop including lunch, pattern, presenter fees and the cost will be around $65 but details will be shared in early summer.

Georgia is a master quilter and a hosted multiple quilt shows through the years. She is credited with inventing the ‘lap quilt‘. Georgia has been inducted into the Quilters Hall of Fame, was President of the International Quilters Association and the founder of the Western North Carolina Quilters Guild in 1982.

Let‘s gather with your peeps and work on our Christmas projects. More info shared in early summer but the small fee will include lunch. More details in early summer. We will be able to accommodate a larger number if folks are going to do handwork and will not need an outlet for sewing machines....

Our second annual Quilts of Valor presentation will be the initial part of the program. We will then follow with the sharing of the Round Robin and Row by Row quilts and end with Dollar Store Hacks (go to the a dollar store, buy a hack that can be used for quilting, share the usefulness and finally put it in a basket for a door prize for a member).
