Membership
All are welcome, from the beginner who wants to learn, to the most experienced quilters!
Membership Benefits
Monthly Meetings consist of a business meeting, committee updates, show and tell, social time, a door prize drawing, and sometimes a speaker or a program.
Guild Activities in addition to the monthly meeting, activities may include a monthly SEW&SEW (small group get-togethers), Mini Retreats, field trips to area fabric stores, a yearly multi-day retreat, workshops, trunk shows, opportunities to attend quilt shows and sewing expos, parties and small group meetings.
Want to Learn to Quilt?
The guild offers a Quilting 101 class for those interested in learning to quilt. You will learn the basics of quilting including fabric selection, tools needed, cutting, sewing multiple blocks and finishing your quilt. A great way to start and meet new friends.
Volunteer Activities are immensely rewarding for our members. Many members participate by making Quilts of Valor, baby quilts for the North Georgia Pregnancy Center, quilts for teenagers at the ACES Youth Home, and holiday fabric postcards for the residents at the Pruitt Healthcare Nursing Home.
Facebook Page
A private Facebook page for news and for members to share pictures of recently completed quilts and projects is available.
Quilt Retreat
We have an annual Retreat every year, usually in early fall. You can spend the time away quilting, eating, laughing, shopping, relaxing, and enjoying the camaraderie of the other members.
Quilt Show
The Pine Needle Quilt Guild usually hosts a bi-annual quilt show, in conjunction with the Oktoberfest in Big Canoe. Members can display their favorite quilt(s) from the previous two years. Visitors can vote on their favorite and they can also purchase quilts, purses, wall hangings, table toppers and many other items made by the members at The Marketplace.
Raffle Quilt
The PNQ members sponsor a raffle quilt. It is a group effort and the money raised goes into the treasury to support educational opportunities for the members and our charitable projects.
