Upcoming Meetings

2022-23 Schedule - Subject to change

December 6, 11:30am, Broyles Hall, chapel

Christmas Potluck Party. Lots of fun planned. Also, don't forget your exchange gift! Hope you are planning on attending, there will be several exciting announcements planned you won't want to miss! First, we will be introducing a Riley Blake Block of the Month, for all skill levels and will have a sign up as well as a handout for fabric requirements. Secondly, we are planning a day trip to QuiltCon 2023 on Feb. 23rd. We will provide transportation to and from the Atlanta Convention Center for about 20 ladies. We will have a sign up and more info at the party. And last, we will have an early sign-up sheet for our February workshop with Sue Kappes, one of our members and longarmer. She will be teaching the quilt from her trunk show last year," Trip X Two". It was a crowd favorite at the show. When you cut for one block, it makes two! Price for class is $30 (includes pattern), held on Feb. 16th at McCormick Hall, chapel from 10am-2pm. We will have a picture and other details at the party.

Riley Blake Block of the Month

We will be introducing a Riley Blake Block of the Month (BOM) for all skills levels and will distribute a sign-up sheet for participation as well as a handout for fabric requirements. Picture sampling of the quilt and a couple of fabric choices to consider, is below and beginning in January each participant will receive the cutting and sewing directions via e-mail or alpha box. We are hopeful we might also add the monthly blocks to the PNQ website. There are actually 16 blocks plus a bonus block of your own choice if you would like to include it at the end. So, there will be some months that more than 1 block will be distributed in order to finish the quilt before the end of the year.

January 3, 1pm, McCormick Hall, chapel

Our January program topic will be "The Challenge of Challenges" presented by Frances Arnold. Frances is a CPA by profession but more importantly, a quilter for over 37 years. She is descended from a long line of quilters and loves all aspects of the art, from hand applique to free motion machine quilting. She has won many ribbons in guild and regional shows and has had 3 quilts displayed at the International Quilt Festival in Houston. Her favorite part of this quilting journey is the ability to encourage and inspire others to make the quilts that they want to make. She writes a daily blog focusing on the art of quilting...with a few other things added as well.

Margie Parr will also be introducing our Challenge for this year, "Color My World Quilt Challenge". She will also be handing out Challenge packets for all participants. Margie has lots of experience in doing challenges and she will bring lots of new and fresh ideas for us. We hope you will plan to join in on all the FUN!!!

January 19th, Village Station, 9:00-12:00pm

To help better understand the process of inspiration and design of the challenge, Margie Parr will be offering a "Color My World Quilt Challenge" workshop. This workshop will review the criteria and show examples of previous challenges and help members brainstorm what they want to create. This will be more of a discussion and question and answer session rather than a sewing time. Challenge packets will also be available for those that did not receive one at the meeting.

February 7, location and time TBD, "Spread Love Stitch Love"

This Valentine's themed gathering will be the kick-off activity for PNQ guild participation in the nationwide "I Found A Quilted Heart" campaign (ifoundaquiltedheart.com). We will provide the hearts, you provide the embellishments, lace, ric-rac, ribbons, sequins, buttons, embroidery thread, etc. Refreshments will be served. No sewing machines needed, basic sewing items needed. Thread, needles, pins, scissors, etc. A fun afternoon with your friends! "Love" themed door prizes too! Time and location to follow SOON!
